The FDA has approved Inova Labs Inc’s new oxygen concentrator system, the Activox DUO2. The device is the first integrated stationary and portable oxygen concentrator on the market, according to the company.

Activox DUO2 offers up to 5 LPM continuous flow oxygen for patients at home and up to 3 LPMeq PULSE-WAVE oxygen delivery for active patients out of the home using the POC. With the LifeChoice Activox POC, patients can enjoy up to 12.5 hours of internal battery life while away from home. When it is time to recharge, simply connect the POC to the stationary base. The stationary base can recharge both the internal and external batteries of the POC.

The device includes data reporting capabilities to improve service and system monitoring. A retractable handle and locking wheels make it easy to transport from room to room, while simple controls allow for easy set up and operation.

“Activox DUO2™ was designed to provide patients and providers with a non-delivery solution that can positively impact both quality of life and quality of service,” said John Rush, CEO for Inova Labs. “This system removes the hassle and burden of tanks and replaces it with true freedom and mobility, which we believe is imperative to improving an oxygen patient’s life.”

Inova did not announce a release date for the device.
