An important association between Bronchiectasis and the risk of cardiovascular events was published as an abstract in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
Results of the study revealed that the odds of coronary heart disease were 2.05 times higher in patients with a diagnosis of bronchiectasis compared to the general population. The odds of stroke were 1.38 times higher in patients with bronchiectasis compared to people without it.
I was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis approx. a year ago as a result of MAC. I was on treatment for MAC for 18 mos. I am on acetylcistine and Brovana via nebulizer. It seems my exacerbations are more and more frequent. What else can be done?
