Drive Medical, a global manufacturer of durable medical equipment, has acquired two healthcare device manufacturers: Columbia Medical in the US and Park House Healthcare in Europe.

Columbia Medical is a manufacturer of complex rehabilitation products that enhance the lives of children with disabilities. For over 30 years, Columbia has manufactured high-quality assistive products such as wheelchairs, aircraft transfer chairs, bath and shower products, gait trainers and car seats. Based in California, Columbia is also known for its innovative Spirit Adjustable Positioning Car Seat and the Omni and Elite pediatric tub transfer systems.

Drive Medical’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Drive Medical Limited of the UK, acquired Park House Healthcare, a worldwide manufacturer of pressure prevention products, hospital and long-term care beds, and moving and handling equipment. Founded in 1984 and based in West Yorkshire, UK, Park House Healthcare’s product portfolio includes a wide range of clinically proven healthcare solutions, fully supported by clinical training programs to the U.K.’s National Health Service, acute community and nursing home sectors.

Drive hopes the acquisitions will strengthen its global positions in the pediatric, pressure prevention, and long-term care markets.
