The respiratory care program of Gwinnett Technical College in Georgia recently received accreditation, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post.

The school picked up the honor at a summer forum where colleges that had 90 percent or above on credentialing success, attrition and positive job placement. Gwinnett Tech has had 100 percent pass rates on the national credentialing exam for six straight years.

“Gwinnett Tech’s program is respected throughout hospitals and outpatient theatres across the state,” Tim Washburn, a Gwinnett Tech Respiratory Care graduate, said in a press release. “The program prepared me to be confident in all situations and think critically on my feet.”

Respiratory care therapists care for patients who suffer from heart and lung illnesses. Gwinnett Tech’s respiratory care program trains its students using the latest medical technology and equipment, so they are well prepared for employment in the field.
