Nine noteworthy products were chosen to compete for Medtrade’s 2017 Innovative HME Retail Product Awards, but a neonatal heart rate monitor and pulse oximeter called the Owlet Smart Sock 2 was named the exhibition’s top product.
The nine products chosen as finalists for the award were:

- AirMini Portable CPAP solution by ResMed
- AirTouch F20 CPAP mask by ResMed
- MyPainAway Sports Cream by Topricin
- Mini-Tablet Holder and Smart Phone Holder by Delta
- SoClean CPAP Cleaning Device by SoClean
- Strongback Wheelchair by Strongback Mobility
- Stability Gliders (a walker accessory) by Stabilized Steps
Judges Tim Rutti (Valley Medical Supplies), Rob Baumhover (VGM Group), and RJ Poonawala (Spring Branch Medical Supply) cast their votes for the top three:
- Owlet Smart Sock 2
- Strongback 24 Wheelchair and Strongback Excursion Wheelchair
- Stability Gliders
“The awards are all about promoting and recognizing products that contribute to providers’ bottom
lines though cash sales,” said Sarah Varner, marketing director. “All of these products embody
what we like to call ‘caretailing,’ which is the unique place where the caring, customer service
element that only HME retailers can provide, meets the traditional retail sale.”
