Spirometry

 Medical Graphics Corporation, St Paul, Minn, announces the release of the MedGraphics® CPFS/D™ USB PC-based spirometer. From simple spirometry to complete bronchial provocation, the CPFS/D USB offers various testing capabilities and meets or exceeds all current ATS/ERS recommendations for accuracy and performance. The SpiroUSB combines a digital volume transducer and the user-friendly multi-window Spida 5 PC software to create a powerful solution for PC-based spirometry. Requiring only a spare USB port, the SpiroUSB can be used on any Windows-based laptop or desktop computer by installing the Spida 5 software and plugging in the SpiroUSB sensor. This product incorporates the latest technology with the most recent recommendations for spirometry testing (including the newest parameters and predicted values). A large, high-resolution color display offers real-time flow/volume and time/volume graphs to help the operator evaluate test quality. The "Bubbles" pediatric incentive is available for testing children. Discovery-2 has a wide internal printer that prints reports in about 15 seconds.
