CareFusion has signed an exclusive distribution agreement for the US with Breas Medical for their Vivo line of ventilation equipment, according to the company.

Under the terms of the agreement, CareFusion will be the exclusive US distributor for the Vivo by Breas line of life support and bi-level ventilators from Breas Medical, including the Vivo 50, Vivo 40 and Vivo 30.

The Vivo product line is designed for home mechanical ventilation and complements CareFusion’s other ventilator products, such as the AVEA, VELA, 3100A and 3100B HFOV, Infant Flow SiPAP, ReVel and LTV Series ventilators.

CareFusion believes the combination will allow them to provide customers a complete range of ventilation products.

“CareFusion is committed to providing single-vendor solutions that enable care providers and health systems to partner with us to meet their patients’ ventilation needs across the acuity continuum,” said Kevin Ketzel, senior vice president and general manager of Respiratory Technologies for CareFusion. “Home ventilation is a critical need for many patients, and offering the Breas Medical Vivo line of home ventilators will provide additional choice for our customers. Breas Medical shares our commitment to innovation and high-quality products that help improve patients’ lives.”

Nicke Svanvik, CEO of Breas Medical added, “CareFusion is a great partner for the Breas Vivo brand. They have the scale, infrastructure, reputation, clinical experience and complementary product portfolio to make Breas’s Vivo products a market leader in the United States. We are happy that CareFusion recognized the quality, robustness, innovation and design quality of our Vivo products.”

The distribution agreement may be expanded with additional products and territories in the future. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
