Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare’s Vice President of Global Respiratory and Sleep, Joe Lewarski, was recently elected to the American Respiratory Care Foundation (ARCF) Board of Trustees, according to a company press release.

drive_Lewarski_HeadshotThe ARCF is dedicated to promoting respiratory health through the support of research, education, and patient?focused philanthropic activities in respiratory care. ARCF trustees are appointed by the AARC President upon ratification of the AARC Board of Directors.

Lewarski, a registered respiratory therapist and AARC Fellow, has served multiple terms on the American Association for Homecare (AHH) board of directors. In 2011, he was awarded the Homecare Champion Award from AHH for sustained
contributions in clinical, patient and industry advocacy.

In 2001, Lewarski was awarded with the Invacare Award for Excellence in Home Respiratory Care by the ARCF for outstanding performance and contributions in the field of home respiratory care. He is a past AARC Homecare Section Chair and served two terms on its board of directors, including a term as Vice President of External Affairs. He is also a past Chair of the AAHomecare HME/RT Council.

Lewarski, BS, RRT, FAARC, holds undergraduate degrees in respiratory therapy and business administration and will complete a master’s degree in healthcare administration in August. As Vice President of Global Respiratory and Sleep at Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare, he is responsible for leading the strategy, R&D, product development and management of the respiratory and sleep categories.
