The American Lung Association will host its 2019 Lung Force Expo in Indianapolis on September 13, 2019.

The event will focus on cutting-edge treatments and innovative management for lung disease and lung cancer.

Lung Force Expo is designed for patients and healthcare professionals to learn more about the latest trends, resources and research surrounding lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma and other respiratory issues. Speakers from these fields will present current research on topics that have the greatest impact on those whose lives are touched by these conditions. Topics for this year’s event include new methods and updates in immunotherapy for asthma and lung cancer, coaching patients how to deal with asthma medication and patient-provider barriers, climate change and lung disease, and e-cigarettes use.

“By participating in the Lung Force Expo, you are helping change what it means for people to live with lung disease,” said Tanya Husain, executive director for the Lung Association. “Join us to learn important lung disease information, share a meaningful experience with others who are affected by lung disease, and care for yourself and others by expanding your lung disease knowledge.”

The event will feature some of the nation’s leading experts in lung disease and lung cancer, including:

  • Rebecca Pettit, MBA, PharmD, and Cindy Fiscus, BSN, RN, AE-C from the Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana University Health
  • Alicia Earnest, MPH from Indiana State Department of Health
  • Pat McKone, senior director, health promotions, tobacco for the American Lung Association

Healthcare professionals, as well as patients living with lung disease or lung cancer, and caregivers are invited to attend the event, which will be hosted at the Indianapolis Marriott East.
