The AARC and FACES Foundation are accepting nominations for the 2018 National Respiratory Patient Advocacy Award. The award is the only nationally-recognized advocacy program dedicated to honoring outstanding respiratory therapists. The award identifies and honors registered respiratory therapists from across the country who demonstrate excellence in quality, compassionate care for patients. Nominations are made online and the deadline to make a nomination is August 31, 2018.

“The National Patient Advocacy Award is uniquely dedicated to praising the role of the respiratory therapist,” said AARC Executive Director/CEO Thomas Kallstrom, RRT, MBA, FAARC, AARC. “Millions of people in the US have respiratory diseases, such as asthma and COPD, which proves respiratory care is vital to the health of patients. Taking time to recognize respiratory therapists who continually deliver compassionate and quality care to patients is a great opportunity to express our gratitude for these individuals.”

The award commemorates a vital member of the healthcare team that empowers patients to breathe easy: the respiratory therapist. This consummate professional appreciates the ‘individual’ instead of the ‘patient’ and is dedicated to the principle that every breath matters. Nominations may come from anyone with a working relationship with the nominee.

The National Respiratory Patient Advocacy Award program is made possible through the support of the FACES Foundation, the AARC Respiratory Patient Advocacy Summit and its sponsors.
