A researcher at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine is developing an injectable antidote for carbon monoxide poisoning and he believes it could have dramatic and wide-ranging results if successful.
“This represents a game-changer, a true paradigm shift in the way we treat carbon monoxide poisoning,” said Lt. Joseph Roderique, MD. “For the first time ever we could have a medication that an EMT or firefighter could give to a victim of carbon monoxide poisoning that can dramatically improve their condition within seconds to minutes.”
