According to the Daily Press, the number of children with RSV is down but the season is lasting longer.
The season for RSV, respiratory syncytial virus, typically tracks the flu closely. This year, the common virus, which causes infection of the lungs and breathing passages, and is particularly dangerous in young children, appeared earlier and has outlasted the flu’s peak by several weeks.
