The CDC has helped develop a new infection control training curriculum called STRIVE: States Targeting Reduction in Infections Via Engagement.
The program includes courses that address the technical and foundational elements for preventing health care-associated infections. Some courses focus on audit and feedback, hand hygiene, environmental cleaning and engaging patients and families.
The courses, which can be taken in any order, are composed of one or more modules. The CDC said that the modules can be used for: new employee training; annual infection prevention training; and periodic training.
