The American Heart Association reports 32% of patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) are unvaccinated against influenza.
Researchers examined data for a sample of 15,268 adults aged ≥40 years with ASCVD.
The researchers found that 32 percent of these individuals had not had a flu vaccination in the past year. Among younger individuals, non-Hispanic blacks, those without a usual source of care and insurance, and those with a lower level of education and household income, vaccine coverage was significantly lower.
