Masimo Emma250At this year’s EMS Today 2013 Conference & Exposition, JEMS awarded two of its Hot Product awards to Masimo, according to the company. One for its EMMA Emergency Capnometer and a second for the iSpO2 pulse oximeter for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.

“We are honored that our iSpO2 pulse oximeter and EMMA capnometer received two prestigious JEMS Hot Products Awards at EMS Today, the preeminent conference and exhibition for the emergency services industry,” said Jon Coleman, Masimo President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing and Clinical Research. “Masimo has always been committed to taking monitoring technologies to new sites and applications, and we’re equally committed to launching more award-winning products.”

The EMMA Mainstream Capnometer measures, displays, and monitors respiratory rate and EtCO2 continuously when connected to a patient’s breathing circuit. The device is portable, allowing for use during CPR and intubation. EMMA is integrated into the breathing circuit, making it highly accessible during transport and/or emergency ventilation scenarios, according to Masimo.

The Masimo iSpO2, a consumer pulse oximeter using Masimo SET technology, is designed for use with iOS devices. Patients use their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with a 30-pin connector to noninvasively measure blood oxygenation, pulse rate and perfusion index. Masmio notes iSpO2 is not for medical use, but serves for short-term sports and aviation use.
