Cook Medical, Bloomington, Ind, has launched a new Web site to provide physicians with the latest information on a new technique of percutaneous dilational tracheostomy (PDT). The Ciaglia Blue Dolphin Web site will focus specifically on balloon percutaneous tracheostomy, performed by the inflation of a balloon catheter to provide true radial dilation.
The site includes a procedural video, a resource center with FAQs on the procedure, and an interactive procedure simulator for physicians. The self-guided, self-paced, and self-correcting simulator allows physicians to become acquainted with the procedure online.
